How It All Began
In 2012 on a cold winter morning, my brother was headed out on a deer hunt with his daughter. As they were walking out the door, he quickly grabbed a fleece throw blanket just in case they needed it. As the sun rose and the coldness of the morning rested on them, he knew it wouldn’t be long before he heard, “Dad, I’m cold.”
Sure enough, those words came. He pulled the blanket from his pack and wrapped it around her. Almost immediately, she felt better and started warming up and was good to keep hunting. That morning, she harvested her first buck—a memory we’ll never forget.
Something as simple as staying warm was the key to sitting longer, being more comfortable, and ultimately, finding success in the stand. That old couch blanket wasn’t camo, but it worked—and it earned a permanent spot in our hunting packs.
Innovation Through Experience
The following deer season came, and a blanket went into my backpack. One morning in the deer stand while using my blanket, my target buck started walking toward me. Not thinking, I stood up to draw back and down went the blanket. That hunt ended just like you’d expect.
That’s when the Boggs Blanket was born, version 1.0 anyway. Complete with a hand-warming pouch and an elastic strap to secure the blanket around your torso, keeping it in place when standing and it worked great. For years, my family and close hunting buddies used that early version to stay warmer and hunt longer. Well…… Except for me, who always has cold feet.
So, I decided to redesign the original version with a few improvements to keep my toes warm. Version 2.0 was created and included a foot warming pouch with an elastic cuff that keeps the blanket snug around your boots and keeps your feet warm and off the cold metal stand.
Built for More Than Just Hunting
A few years later while attending a high school football game one, I quickly realized while sitting on metal bleachers I needed my Boggs Blanket with me. My upper body was good, but my lower half could use an extra layer.
After a few more design tweaks, we created our third version, that we believe is something truly unique—the Boggs Blanket.
